Angelina Jolie's Directorial Debut Gets A Trailer

FROM MTV MOVIES: We all know Angelina Jolie, Academy Award-winning actress, sex symbol, mother and philanthropist, but today for the first time, the new trailer for "In the Land of Blood and Honey" introduces all of us to Angelina Jolie, writer and director. There's been talk about the project, a love story set during the Bosnian war in the early '90s, for a while now, but there was little actually known besides a rough description of the plot. Brad Pitt even refused to give his review of the film when he spoke with MTV News while promoting "Moneyball." The movie remained more or less a mystery with Jolie's name as the only recognizable feature. That is, until the trailer hit the Web on Friday (October 21). In it, we get a look at a sweeping romance buried deep within the horrors of the Bosnian war and filled with suspicion and betrayal. The film stars Zana Marjanovic and Goran Kostic as two lovers caught in the middle of the conflict. The scale is surprisingly big, attempting to portray a full-out war, and features lots of gunfire and several large explosions. John Travolta Doesn't Understand How KFC Works

According to The Daily Mail, last Friday while in West Sussex, England for an annual Scientology event, John Travolta asked one of his reps to reserve a table at the local KFC for him and his guests. The KFC employee who answered the phone kindly explained to the actor’s rep that fast food chains operate on a first come-first serve basis, even if the customer was John Travolta. Sadly, the actor never got his table or his fried chicken, instead going directly to a charity dinner. A spokesman for KFC has since released a statement about the Travolta debacle: “In hindsight, of course, we would have reserved a table for him. It’s not every day you get a Hollywood star eating in your restaurant.” [Daily Mail]

"Awesome!" replies a bloody actor by having an enthusiasm that's, ironically, everywhere around the Walking Dead set - from undead extra supplies to guide stars - despite an in-house summer time shake-up. "It's jam-packed, character-smart and action-smart," states Andrew Lincoln subsequently, as electrified by the field of hungry corpses as his character, Ron, is terrorized by them. Much deeper, more dark and (at 13 episodes) a lot more than two times as lengthy as this past year, Season 2 from the record-breaking AMC drama questions the price of survival, and just how much humanity its figures can salvage. Executive producer Robert Kirkman, author from the original comic, promises "stomach-wrenching drama." And, obviously, plenty of guts, too. This season's opener began having a shock - youthful Sophia got lost within the zombie-filled forest - and ended in an instant, as Rick's youthful boy, Carl, was accidentally shot. "They are anticipation for the future,Inch states Steven Yeun (Glenn). "When the children are gone, what is the point?" Not everybody shares this concern. "Some would like to move, other medication is eager to find Sophia, and everybody has their very own agenda," states Melissa McBride, who plays Carol, Sophia's mother. Adds Kirkman, "It's interesting how rapidly a couple of proceed to self-upkeep. It'll shock you who goes there, that 'we desire to make sacrifices' mode." That philosophical split may cause tension between close friends Ron and Shane (Jon Bernthal). Could Lori's condition, like her comic-book counterpart, become much more delicate this year? (Spoiler alert: The smoothness was revealed to become pregnant within the comic.) Callies is only going to say Lori's focus is Sophia and Carl, but adds vaguely, "Later, she might have some choices about dealing with new duties." What else are we able to expect this year? Dr. Jenner's secret, whispered to Ron within the final moments of last year's finale, "is going to be revealed," states professional producer Gale Anne Hurd. Andrea (Laurie Holden), probably the most damaged survivor after her sister's dying, will morph right into a more effective player. "I have been served by the boys - understanding how to shoot, adopting my inner tomboy," states Holden. Happy 62nd Birthday, Sigourney Weaver! What's Her Most Underrated Movie Moment?

Film legend and Movieline pal Sigourney Weaver turns 62 today, which means she’s been a working girl for almost 35 years. Damn, Ripley. Let’s pick her most underrated work on the big screen after the jump. Personally, I think I’ve pinpointed it. If your suggestion is You Again, I’m prepared to yell, “Get away from her, you bitch” at you. We can always use more serial killer dramas, and 1995’s Copycat is one of the funnest — and scariest — in the genre. Weaver plays field lecturer and serial kiiller expert Dr. Helen Hudson, whose expertise makes her the target of Daryll Lee Cullum (Harry Connick, Jr!), a murderer who likes recreating the work of famous serial killers in history. Weaver is strong, believable, and panicked in Copycat, and though Holly Hunter gives the movie’s most interesting performance as detective M.J. Monahan, it’s Weaver whose plight is compelling. I bet when visions of evil Harry Connick Jr. swim up to surface in Helen’s mind, it’s like the horrifying prequel to Dolphin Tale 3D. What’s your choice for Weaver’s most underrated role?

Eastwood in talks to star in 'Trouble'

EastwoodClint Eastwood said "Gran Torino" would be his final film in front of the camera, but with his next directorial effort, "A Star Is Born," delayed, he's decided to un-retire as a thesp for "Trouble With the Curve." Robert Lorenz, Eastwood's Malpaso partner, is in talks to make his directorial debut with the Warner Bros. pic written by Randy Brown. Eastwood is in talks to play an aging baseball scout who's losing his sight and decides to take a road trip to Atlanta with his daughter to eye a hot prospect. Malpaso will produce, but the company won't start its search for the female lead until Eastwood and Lorenz close their deals. Sarah Schechter will oversee the project for WB, which had difficulty tracking Brown down, as the script has been kicking around Hollywood for several years. Eastwood had been searching for a project to topline ever since Beyonce Knowles announced her pregnancy at the MTV Video Music Awards in August, which pushed back the start of production on the remake of "A Star Is Born" to what will likely be late spring or early summer next year. While Eastwood starred in and helmed 2008's "Gran Torino" for Warner Bros., the last he starred in but did not direct was the 1993 thriller "In the Line of Fire," which was directed by Wolfgang Petersen. Lorenz has served as assistant director on several of Eastwood's movies, including "Mystic River" and "Million Dollar Baby." WB will release Eastwood's next film, "J. Edgar," on Nov. 9. The Dustin Lance Black-scripted pic, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Armie Hammer, Naomi Watts and Judi Dench, is being eyed as a contender in the upcoming awards season. 'Vampire Diaries' Actress to Star in Hallmark Movie Channel Western (Exclusive)

The Vampire Diaries actress Sara Canning and Greystone Holt have been tapped to star in the Hallmark Movie Channel telefilm Hannah's Law, a Western set to premiere in spring 2012. Danny Glover, Kimberly Elise, Billy Zane, Ryan Kennedy and John Pyper-Ferguson co-star in the movie, which went into production Monday in Calgary, Alberta. The movie is set in a frontier town filled with crime and corruption until Hannah (Canning), a strong-willed heroine, and her friends, including Wyatt Earp (Holt, Durham County) and Doc Holliday (Kennedy, Hellcats), take a stand for justice as she tries to track down the McMurphy gang, which brutally murdered her parents and young brother. Glover (Mandela) is set to play Isom Dart, a father figure to Hannah; Elise (For Colored Girls) is Stagecoach Mary, her best friend; Zane (Titanic) is Lockwood; and Pyper-Ferguson (Caprica) plays Frank McMurphy. Hannah's Law, from Nomadic Pictures Productions 3 and Sony Pictures Television, is executive produced by Mike Ogiens and John Fasano. Chad Oakes and Mike Frislev are the producers. Rachel Talalay is directing from a script written by John Fasano. Canning is perhaps best known for her role as Jenna Sommers on CW's Vampire Diaries. Holt also appears in Alcatraz, J.J.
