'Hangover 2' Lawsuit, Part 4: Louis Vuitton Sues Warner Bros. Over Fake Bag in Film
It's the R-rated comedy that keeps on giving. For lawyers. Everyone's favorite legal punching bag, 'The Hangover Part II,' is being sued again, this time by the luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton. The company alleges that a handbag featured in the film is actually a fake. This wouldn't seem like such a big deal except that, as the Hollywood Reporter points out, the scene in question has Zach Galifianakis carrying the bag and stating "Careful, that is ... a Louis Vuitton." The complaint states that Louis Vuitton has been "damaged by consumer confusion." If you're keeping count, this is the fourth (fourth!) lawsuit brought against the comedy. First, a tattoo artist sued the producers for copyright infringement over the face tattoo Ed Helms' character sports in the film. After that, a stunt man sued for damages due to brain injuries he suffered while shooting a scene. Then there was the guy who claimed the writers stole the idea for the sequel from the man's life story. The first lawsuit was settled out of court; the second two were dropped by the plaintiffs. For this latest legal snafu, Louis Vuitton probably won't go quietly. After all, their reputation has been irrevocably damaged, or something. Major battles with a number of CGI monsters within the offing, but, on first inspection, the look work this time around does not look quite as almost as much ast whether it's happen by getting someone crane over Guillermo Del Toro's shoulder to check out his sketchbook. Jonathan Liebesman (Fight: LA) may be the director, overtaking from Louis Leterrier, also it does look as though he's shipped the grittier undertake the fabric he guaranteed a couple of several weeks ago.Oh, and you will find really leaders in that one. Talkback: Is Ryan Gosling Really the Coolest Man of the Year?
For generations, Time has taught you, your kids, and your step-grandkids what is “cool” in popular culture, and today they’re dropping a bombshell on you: Ryan Gosling, who played the most alpha, well-jacketed dudes in cinema this year, is the magazine’s “Coolest Man of 2011.” Right, right, yawn, yawn. Does anyone else here object? First things first, while I enjoyed Drive and The Ides of March like y’all, Gosling’s “cool” is really just facial symmetry. Yes, it’s a lot of facial symmetry, and I want to measure it with “a protractor” (code for “my trembling, loving hands”), but it just qualifies Gosling to be a cool actor, not a cool person. Those tumblr memes have to stuff words in his mouth to make him seem awesome, you know? Hey, girl, that makes him more of a cipher than a pillar of cool — and I don’t care what street brawls he broke up. Here are the best alternative choices: 1. Ellen Barkin. You may have heard of her. You may have also heard that I spill little worlds of tears and LOLs when she tweets. She emerged from nowhere to become a 140-character phenomenon, and now when I watch Sea of Love, I feel connected to her “Bronx bitch” beginnings. She’s dating Barry Levinson’s chatty, amiable 25-year-old son Sam, too, which makes her especially cool — because she definitely starred in Barry’s Diner back in ‘82. WHAT. 2. Uggie the dog. He arrived unceremoniously, added a heart to the otherwise formulaic The Artist, and is the key to the film’s lofty Best Picture chances. He also emotes on command. He’s our Tatum O’Neal. Respect him. 3. Michael Fassbender. If Ryan Gosling snatched up the most archetypal “cool” roles since Sean Connery ruled, Fassbender acted as his sly, intellectual counterpart. Between Shame’s manic protagonist and A Dangerous Method’s conflicted experimentalist, Fassy sought for libidinous depth beneath his characters’ severe exteriors. That? Is pretty cool. And still hot and overwhelmingly symmetrical. Which means all “cool” rubrics have been met. Any other options, ladies and gents? 'Hugo' and 'The Artist' Top the Broadcast Film Critics' Listing of Nominations With 11 Each
NY - Netflix deal chatter could stay in the head lines in 2012, based on Wall Street experts, despite the fact that some say a purchase of the organization or some of it may never happen. On Monday, a study stated that Verizon was searching at purchasing the streaming video company, however, many Wall Street experts had their doubts. "Netflix might be a prime target for just about any kind of M&A," Burns Tabak analyst David Joyce told The Hollywood Reporter. Or at best M&A talk. Inside a set of Tuesday, Joyce authored: "With Netflix's strategy problems and subsequent stock plummet, which has opened up up potential possibilities for telco video distribution companies or online e-commerce companies to think about adding the corporation with 22 million-plus customers for their achieve." He pointed out DirecTV - since satellite television competitor Dish Network captured acquired Blockbuster - Amazon . com, Google, AT&T, Microsoft and Wal-Mart as others that may have a look if Netflix was available on the market. "Also, we'd believe that entertainment companies could become thinking about purchasing Netflix as a way of safeguarding but improving the television ecosystem, rather than Netflix's current role like a disruptor," Joyce stated. "Netflix would explore the windowing plan." The NY Publish on Tuesday also recommended that entertainment companies could get involved with an offer with Netflix, but merely purchase a minority stake within the firm. Some on Wall Street question though when the deal talk has been urged mostly by bankers searching to obtain deal activity going. "It will likely be hard for Netflix to simply accept deals near current stock values after it had been worth $300 only a couple of several weeks ago," stated one observer. "It's just cheaper to purchase the subs rather than purchase the business," stated Janney Capital Marketplaces analyst Tony Wible. "You don't just buy more than $4 billion for that equity, they also have $4.5 billion in content obligations." Adding individuals two together, "you'd pay roughly $400 per customer," Wible believed. "Somebody could really win the subs by having to pay only $100 per sub either like a cash bounty or by offering service for 12 several weeks for your cost. That might be $2.2 billion should you got all Netflix's 22 million subs. However, you don't even need all of the subs." Nevertheless, Wible stated that companies have always made bad deals with corporate history. "Microsoft includes a history, however i don't observe that happening," he stated. Netflix hasn't emerge and signaled any curiosity about deals. A spokesperson stated Tuesday that the organization doesn't discuss gossips or speculation. However, many say the organization may need a regular boost on any deal gossips. "I image they'd lose talent when they cannot turn back current momentum," stated one observer. Is TV Too Gory?
The Walking Dead When you absolutely, positively have to determine whether a zombie has devoured a missing girl, there's only one thing to do: Shoot it in the head and disembowel what's left of the flesh-eater's rotting corpse.Yuck? Perhaps, but it's that kind of occasional carnage that has fans rabid for AMC's The Walking Dead. The zombie series continues to unearth big ratings as it ushers in a new age of horror and thriller series - and the accompanying gore - on TV. The trend began with Showtime's Dexter and the titular killer's plastic-wrapped human-carving station, as well as HBO's True Blood and its flesh-ripping, neck-biting vamps. Then came The Walking Dead, and more recently, FX's American Horror Story and NBC's Grimm, both of which have scared up sizable audiences.TV's past thrillers, such as The Twilight Zone, relied more on psychological scares than gore. Horror is a polarizing genre, which is why the networks mostly avoided it. But times have changed, content standards have loosened, and cable is able to target a niche crowd that likes a little gristle in their TV diet. The horror genre has made a bit of a comeback in recent years, as audiences grew accustomed to more graphic thrills via the popularity of movies like Saw, Paranormal Activity and The Human Centipede (some of which have been dubbed "torture porn" because of their graphic nature). Also, dark procedurals like CSI and Criminal Minds made it safe to show brutalized corpses in prime time, paving the way for some of the gruesome images on TV's horror explosion."CSI took it to another level in terms of exploring gore," says AMC programming senior vice president Joel Stillerman. "Our intent was never to highlight the gore," he adds of The Walking Dead. "We do it in a way that's organic to the story. People who love that stuff can geek out, and if you don't, you can cover your eyes. We know where the limits are and we know what flies and what doesn't. If we push it, we run a disclaimer."But TV producers say they're still more interested in scaring audiences than grossing them out. Compared to the realism on TV's forensics and autopsy shows, the worlds of The Walking Dead and American Horror Story are at least rooted in make-believe.Fans of The Walking Dead know to expect the occasional blood and guts - like the time a zombie was sliced in half as it was pulled out of a well - which help balance quiet, more emotional moments in a story that at the core is about a family trying to survive an apocalypse. "There are certain conventions in the horror genre, and one is that dispatching zombies, or humans being attacked by zombies, will be fairly graphic," says executive producer Gale Anne Hurd. "If you aren't making a campy show, which we're not, it is something we're expected to deliver. After all, zombies are no longer alive, and the only way to 'kill' them is with a head shot."Viewers don't appear to be turned off by the splatter. The Walking Dead's season premiere attracted the best adult 18-49 ratings ever for a cable drama. At FX, American Horror Story continues to grow its audience and was recently renewed for Season 2. FX programming executive vice president Nick Grad says American Horror Story is bringing in a large female audience that is more interested in the show's characters and its underlying theme - about a marriage in trouble - than its horror imagery (which includes a blood-thirsty demon baby). "We don't want to be gratuitous just for the sake of being gratuitous," he says. "If you're going to do something pretty extreme, there has to be a reason you're doing it."Even though ABC's upcoming The River will contain gory elements, the show's producers say much of it will be blurred out. "We're not really fans of gore," says executive producer Michael Green. "There's a difference between horror and thriller, and we're more in the thriller camp."That means audiences won't get a good glimpse of a gruesome dead body that The River's art department prepared for one episode - at least not yet. Just in case viewers demand more gore with their goose bumps, fellow exec producer Zack Estrin says they're mulling an uncensored DVD. After all, in Hollywood everyone's looking for that other kind of gross - profits.Subscribe to TV Guide Magazine now!

Exclusive: Jonathan Jackson Talks about His Shocking Exit From General Hospital
Jonathan Jackson First, what's promising. They are not changing him. Now, unhealthy. Four-time Emmy champion Jonathan Jackson, stating emotional and physical exhaustion, will exit ABC's General Hospital a few days of December 19 when his character, Lucky Spencer, leaves Port Charles for another visit to Ireland. In recent several weeks, Lucky continues to be hit by one breaking tragedy to another - the hit-and-run dying of his son Mike, the disgusting downfall of his drunken father Luke, and also the dying of his wife Siobhan, which brought towards the character's own descent into drugs and hallucinogenic madness. It is highly likely all of this sturm und drang brings the brilliant Jackson a fifth Emmy award the coming year, but at this time it's going for a large toll around the guy. TV Guide Magazine had a unique talk to Jackson to discover why he stated, "Enough already!" TV Guide Magazine: Your fans are upset. Your costars are upset. What went down here? Could not this happen to be prevented?Jackson: It's one of individuals circumstantial things, I suppose. There certainly wasn't anything negative or contentious about the actual way it happened. I've got a great relationship with everybody in the show. TV Guide Magazine: So, word is, you visited the executives and requested to possess your workload lightened plus they stated they could not get it done. There is no wiggle room? No compromise? Jackson: I do not think my dilemma completely fell on hard of hearing ears. I believe there have been logistics that managed to get difficult to allow them to keep me around basically wasn't inside a large story. TV Guide Magazine: What particularly had you been requesting? Less workdays each week? No large tales for some time? Forget about tragedy? Jackson: All that was talked about. I believe - though I'm not sure without a doubt - that they are truly thinking about determining a method to get this to situation workable. But ultimately it had been made the decision that, basically ended up being to remain on the program, Lucky is simply too important of the character to become placed on the rear burners. The authors have a lot to complete every week it just wasn't likely to be possible to create a significant change such as this. TV Guide Magazine: But is not there a contented medium between tearing your guts out every single day on air and standing on the rear burners? And when Lucky's essential, just how can the authors so easily do without him? Sounds strange. Jackson: I understand. TV Guide Magazine: What introduced you to definitely your decision to not renew your contract? How was your exhaustion manifesting itself?Jackson: This is an interesting paradox. The story lines don't stick with me meaning which i feel personally suffering from what my character is certainly going through, however it does be bad for you on me physically and psychologically. It is a real energy zapper and you will find days after i seem like I've nothing left to provide. As well as in this medium where you are handling a pretty insane quantity of dialogue, day in, day trip, the collision of the heavy workload and growing exhaustion will make you just a little crazy. I enjoy strive but I have been at maximum capacity when it comes to emotional and mental output for several weeks on finish and contains become too hard. I'm very grateful they desired to produce all individuals story lines with the much depth, there is however just no balance. Usually, you can find one or possibly two great and intense story arcs each year. There's often a cycle for this stuff on soaps. But it has been nonstop. There is just no reprieve. I've got a wife and three kids along with other things in existence I must consider. I simply understood I could not sustain the schedule at GH which type of emotion for considerably longer. It had been too intense. TV Guide Magazine: I hear additionally you requested a Lucky and Elizabeth [Rebecca Herbst] reunion and also got a no on that. Have you observe that in an effort to restore some balance and produce Lucky some happiness?Jackson: Absolutely. And i believe the fans want that, too. I had been from GH for ten years and returned [last year] particularly to utilize others. Tony Geary [Luke] would be a huge reason that i can return and thus was Becky. I love dealing with her and like it when our figures are together romantically. Despite the fact that everything has become crazy between Liz and Lucky through the years, there's still an in-depth possibility of something effective and redemptive there. Therefore it appeared just like a real no-brainer in my experience. From my perspective, I simply assumed they'd reconcile. Whether it's a timing problem. There has been large alterations in the writing team at GH which might have moved the timeline for Lucky and Elizabeth to reunite. Or possibly it simply wasn't ever going to take place whatsoever. I'm not sure. TV Guide Magazine: Made it happen surprise you that things switched out by doing this? Or are you aware, starting your conferences using the brass, this may not finish well?Jackson: I can not say I am surprised. I am among individuals individuals who attempt to live daily, moment to moment, and so i didn't have a genuine vision of how this could exercise. I had been greatly available to remaining as we might have determined steps to make it possible for me personally. TV Guide Magazine: I am hearing you will find no large goodbye moments written for Lucky. He just kind of heads to Ireland. Is an indication you might be to finish things off sooner or later, particularly if GH is cancelled? Jackson: This is the one upside to any or all this. Lucky's not dying and they're not recasting. There's a complete possibility that he'll return. We'll see what goes on. TV Guide Magazine: Hey, not have your real-existence kids on GH? Are two Jacksons going for a hike here? Jackson: Yeah, I've my smallest one, Titus, playing Lucky's boy Aiden. Which will continue. He's just a little baby so we are taking it per week at any given time at this time. To date so great. [Laughs] Unlike his father, he's handling it perfectly! Sign up for TV Guide Magazine now!

After making his title with genial comedies occur East Germany, Leander Haussmann ("Sun Alley") winds the time back further, even though "Hotel Lux" is not a train wreck on the amount of Oskar Roehler's "Jew Suss," neither could it be original or especially inspired. Extravagant as well as in dubious taste, the pic does decent biz in your own home, but many worldwide marketplaces is going to be cautious about a Nazi laffer. Berlin, 1933: Apolitical ladies' guy Hendes Zeisig (Michael Bully Herbig) and Jewish commie Siggi Meyer (Juergen Vogel) possess a Stalin-Hitler act that slays Them within the lanes. 3 years later, Meyer's gone into hiding and Zeisig is not getting enjoyable together with his Stalin number, particularly with Nazi Kessel (Uwe-Dag Berlin) now responsible for the theater and pushing him to complete an anti-Semitic parody. Rather, Zeisig dons Meyer's Hitler outfit and works a skit they know is going to be his last. Neither the very first Stalin-Hitler act (very Mel Brooks, with no brilliant comic shock) nor Zeisig's solo Hitler number (with debt obviously to "The Truly Amazing Dictator") is particularly funny, notwithstanding an audience's legitimate need to from time to time laugh at these figures. The issue is based on the way the comedy is created: With Chaplin, there's terror underneath every elegant comic movement, whereas Haussmann is not behind the buffoonery. Nazis chasing after Zeisig lower the road, shot like quiet slapstick, is particularly ill created. Zeisig tries to obtain a visa towards the U.S., convinced he'll be considered a star in Hollywood, but wrangles merely a fake Soviet passport. He comes to Moscow in the Hotel Lux, where Comintern people are lodged within an atmosphere of mistrust. There, he meets Nikolai Yezhov (Alexander Senderovich), the violent, diminutive chief from the secret police, who's convinced the actor is Hitler's personal astrologer, whom Stalin is expecting. Zeisig is designated a translator, Clara (Thekla Reuten), real title Frida, a Meyer partisan whom Zeisig met in '33, and who attempts to save him from an progressively sticky situation. Then Stalin (Valery Grishko) arrives. Unlike Dani Levy's not successful farce-drama hybrid "Mein Fuhrer," "Hotel Lux" does not play the role of anything apart from a comic book caper. Yet with no underlying deadly importance so essential to making the laughs cathartic, Haussmann's Uncle Joe is basically a paranoid and superstitious fool, by having an focus on the second trait. A smart cackle at Stalin (or Hitler) will be a relief, although not if this sweeps away the monster within. Further (minor) laughs are produced by labels determining hotel visitors who'll later go onto become major figures in East Germany along with other Soviet-bloc nations. When the history were completely make believe (just like a "Stargate" episode), the pic will make a directing adventure-comedy romp, but Haussmann's wish to have everything outings him up. Fortunately, Herbig has personality having a capital "P," and also the popular spoofer has very exciting directing the aura of stars from cinema's past. Exactly the same could be stated of Haussmann's entire concept, utilizing products from another era including elaborate studio sets, matte works of art, dolly shots and so on. It's playfully old-fashioned and aesthetically pleasing, with kudos visiting the stylish, self-purposely grandiose lensing by d.p. Hagen Bogdanski ("The Youthful Victoria") and Uli Hanisch's elaborate sets. Ralf Wengenmayr's music tries way too hard having a type of symphonic accompaniment connected with photos in the nineteen forties, and the over ripe arrangements, just like a mix between Max Steiner and John Williams, are excessive.Camera (color/B&W, widescreen), Hagen Bogdanski editor, Hansjoerg Weissbrich music, Ralf Wengenmayr production designer, Uli Hanisch art director, Daniel Chour costume designer, Ute Paffendorf seem (Dolby), Frank Kruse, Ben Rosenkind seem designer, Heiko Mueller, Mario Hubert effects supervisor, Adolf Wojtinek line producers, Anne Leppin, Gilbert Moehler connect producer, Matthias Batthyany casting, Simone Baer. Examined at Rome Film Festival (competing), March. 31, 2011. Running time: 106 MIN. Contact the range newsroom at news@variety.com

The show's sixth-place finish among the broadcasters didn't seem to affect 9 p.m. anchor ''Grey's Anatomy'' (4.0/10 in 18-49, 11.2 million viewers overall), which was up more than 10% week to week to deliver its best demo score since its season premiere and its largest overall audience since last spring. The Eye then aired repeats of ''Person of Interest'' (2.0/5 in 18-49, 9.1 million viewers overall) and ''The Mentalist'' (1.9/5 in 18-49, 10.0 million viewers overall). Its top show remains ''The Office'' (3.0/7 in 18-49, 5.9 million viewers overall), down a bit week to week, and rookie 9:30 p.m. comedy ''Whitney'' is hanging in there (2.1/5 in 18-49, 4.3 million viewers overall), matching last week's score despite the slightly smaller lead-in. And at 10, ''Prime Suspect'' (1.2/3 in 18-49, 4.8 million viewers overall) continues to struggle, on par with last week and seeing no bump in spite of CBS airing a repeat of its crime drama.Off their strong showings of last week, CW was down a bit with both ''The Vampire Diaries'' (1.4/4 in 18-49, 3.3 million viewers overall) and ''The Secret Circle'' (0.8/2 in 18-49, 2.2 million viewers overall), with the former again beating ABC's ''Charlie's Angels'' in 18-49 and tying the NBC comedies for third in persons 12-34 (1.5/5). Dwts Episode Recap: Monday, March. 17, 2011
Andrew Lincoln subsequently [Warning: The next story consists of spoilers in the Season 2 premiere from the Walking Dead. Read at the own risk.] "I hear we are getting shot," states an actress, smiling behind a mask of rotted teeth. "Awesome!" replies a bloody actor by having an enthusiasm that's, ironically, everywhere around the Walking Dead set - from undead extra supplies to guide stars - despite an in-house summer time shake-up. "It's jam-packed, character-smart and action-smart," states Andrew Lincoln subsequently, as electrified by the field of hungry corpses as his character, Ron, is terrorized by them. Much deeper, more dark and (at 13 episodes) a lot more than two times as lengthy as this past year, Season 2 from the record-breaking AMC drama questions the price of survival, and just how much humanity its figures can salvage. Executive producer Robert Kirkman, author from the original comic, promises "stomach-wrenching drama." And, obviously, plenty of guts, too. This season's opener began having a shock - youthful Sophia got lost within the zombie-filled forest - and ended in an instant, as Rick's youthful boy, Carl, was accidentally shot. "They are anticipation for the future,Inch states Steven Yeun (Glenn). "When the children are gone, what is the point?" Not everybody shares this concern. "Some would like to move, other medication is eager to find Sophia, and everybody has their very own agenda," states Melissa McBride, who plays Carol, Sophia's mother. Adds Kirkman, "It's interesting how rapidly a couple of proceed to self-upkeep. It'll shock you who goes there, that 'we desire to make sacrifices' mode." That philosophical split may cause tension between close friends Ron and Shane (Jon Bernthal). "Shane understands what must be done to outlive: deficiencies in empathy and emotion," states Bernthal, whereas Ron attempts to keep his humanity - to some extent. "Not too Rick's attended the negative side,Inch states Lincoln subsequently, "but that is the question: Are we able to survive without becoming monsters? And everyone's arguments are seem. 1 week you are going, 'Shane is really a psycho!' and subsequently you are like, 'But he's right!'" Caught between your two males is Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies), Rick's wife - and Shane's ex-lover. "Each time Ron states, 'We need to be human,' Lori listens to that," states Callies, "but each time Shane states, 'Guys, it's math. It's what we have to caused by keep Carl alive,' which makes sense, too." It is a dynamic, Kirkman states, that'll allow it to be even harder to help keep Lori and Shane's Season 1 affair secret: "Carl's shooting brings them into new areas, puts lots of stress on Lori and Shane, and raises some dark stuff they have been keeping under systems, as they say." Could Lori's condition, like her comic-book counterpart, become much more delicate this year? (Spoiler alert: The smoothness was revealed to become pregnant within the comic.) Callies is only going to say Lori's focus is Sophia and Carl, but adds vaguely, "Later, she might have some choices about dealing with new duties." What else are we able to expect this year? Dr. Jenner's secret, whispered to Ron within the final moments of last year's finale, "is going to be revealed," states professional producer Gale Anne Hurd. Andrea (Laurie Holden), probably the most damaged survivor after her sister's dying, will morph right into a more effective player. "I have been served by the boys - understanding how to shoot, adopting my inner tomboy," states Holden. Happy 62nd Birthday, Sigourney Weaver! What's Her Most Underrated Movie Moment?
Film legend and Movieline pal Sigourney Weaver turns 62 today, which means she’s been a working girl for almost 35 years. Damn, Ripley. Let’s pick her most underrated work on the big screen after the jump. Personally, I think I’ve pinpointed it. If your suggestion is You Again, I’m prepared to yell, “Get away from her, you bitch” at you. We can always use more serial killer dramas, and 1995’s Copycat is one of the funnest — and scariest — in the genre. Weaver plays field lecturer and serial kiiller expert Dr. Helen Hudson, whose expertise makes her the target of Daryll Lee Cullum (Harry Connick, Jr!), a murderer who likes recreating the work of famous serial killers in history. Weaver is strong, believable, and panicked in Copycat, and though Holly Hunter gives the movie’s most interesting performance as detective M.J. Monahan, it’s Weaver whose plight is compelling. I bet when visions of evil Harry Connick Jr. swim up to surface in Helen’s mind, it’s like the horrifying prequel to Dolphin Tale 3D. What’s your choice for Weaver’s most underrated role?

Eastwood in talks to star in 'Trouble'
EastwoodClint Eastwood said "Gran Torino" would be his final film in front of the camera, but with his next directorial effort, "A Star Is Born," delayed, he's decided to un-retire as a thesp for "Trouble With the Curve." Robert Lorenz, Eastwood's Malpaso partner, is in talks to make his directorial debut with the Warner Bros. pic written by Randy Brown. Eastwood is in talks to play an aging baseball scout who's losing his sight and decides to take a road trip to Atlanta with his daughter to eye a hot prospect. Malpaso will produce, but the company won't start its search for the female lead until Eastwood and Lorenz close their deals. Sarah Schechter will oversee the project for WB, which had difficulty tracking Brown down, as the script has been kicking around Hollywood for several years. Eastwood had been searching for a project to topline ever since Beyonce Knowles announced her pregnancy at the MTV Video Music Awards in August, which pushed back the start of production on the remake of "A Star Is Born" to what will likely be late spring or early summer next year. While Eastwood starred in and helmed 2008's "Gran Torino" for Warner Bros., the last he starred in but did not direct was the 1993 thriller "In the Line of Fire," which was directed by Wolfgang Petersen. Lorenz has served as assistant director on several of Eastwood's movies, including "Mystic River" and "Million Dollar Baby." WB will release Eastwood's next film, "J. Edgar," on Nov. 9. The Dustin Lance Black-scripted pic, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Armie Hammer, Naomi Watts and Judi Dench, is being eyed as a contender in the upcoming awards season. Does 'Bond 23' Finally Have It's Villain?
Could Ernst Stavro Blofeld, among James Bond's finest competitors (together with the muse behind Mike Myer's Dr. Evil), produce a return to the 007 franchise? It's possible, states John Logan, the writer behind the tentatively titled 'Bond 23.' According to WhatCulture!, Logan recommended at the potential for Blofeld's large-screen return for your approaching film inside a BAFTA screenwriters lecutre. When someone within the audience asked for the writer of a quote he mentioned previously -- that "Bond should always fight Blofeld" -- Logan responded by repeating the identical factor (getting a grin on his face, surprisingly): "Bond should always fight Blofeld." No, that's not quite a confirmation, but it's something! Ultimately, as CinemaBlend highlights, really the only confirmed cast member by now's Jason Bourne themselves, Difficulties. [via CinemaBlend]

Ice Cube Still Planning NWA Biopic
John Singleton states he might directIt's well more than a year since Ice Cube introduced he was planning to make a biopic of his erstwhile NWA crew. Meanwhile he's switched out for romantic drama New Year's Eve and performed the Frank McRae angry captain role in 21 Jump Street. But Cube has ongoing to build up Straight Out of Compton, and today John Singleton has revealed he's in foretells direct. This is an apparent match of fabric along with a director who formerly labored with Cube around the epochal Boyz N the Hood. Since that time the kind of Shaft, Four Siblings and a pair of Fast 2 Furious have stored him afloat, and he's lately completed the Rachelle Lefervre vehicle Abduction, in the hot Black List script by Shawn Christensen. His Compton participation is not occur stone - I can not talk too prematurely about this, he told The Playlist - but he is doing state that the script is actually, great, so we are foreseeing it. He adds that New Line desires to allow it to be. Last we heard, that script was at the disposal of World Trade Center author Andrea Berloff, however it appears since to possess acquired S Leigh Savidge and Alan Wenkus, each of whom will also be working together on the new Dolemite movie. Savidge designed a documentary concerning the Dying Row label, the publish-NWA home of Dr Dre, in 2001. Matt Alvarez, Cube's creating cohort from the kind of Barbershop and therefore are We There Yet?, can also be involved. Cube had an acrimonious split from NWA before going after his solo career (he went platinum, bitch, but he did not need to become unattainable), and although he's been reconciled together with his former bandmates because the dying of Easy E, a Cube-controlled Straight Out of Compton still appears one-on the sides. Nevertheless, it's beginning, so there is no reason to suspect that Dre, DJ Yella and MC Ren will not possess some kind of participation somewhere down the road. Additionally, there are the question of casting: any recommendations for Cube like a teen, with some gold along with a pager?

Kaira Pitt Clarifies Jennifer Aniston Remarks
La, Calif. -- Kaira Pitt has clarified his recent remarks about ex-wife Jennifer Aniston. It grieves me it was interpreted using this method. Jen is certainly a remarkably giving, loving, and amusing lady who remains my friend, Kaira mentioned in the statement to get into Hollywood on Thursday evening, mentioning to remarks he apparently made to Parade magazine in regards to a couple of from the troubles that allegedly introduced for his or her split. This is an important relationship I value greatly, Brads statement ongoing. The reason I used to be trying to create is not that Jen was dull, but that we was becoming dull to myself which, I am responsible for. As formerly reported on AccessHollywood.com, Parade magazines Sunday edition quotes Kaira as getting mentioned, I spent the 90s trying to hideout, trying to duck the whole celebrity cacophony. I started to acquire fed up with myself searching in a couch, holding some pot, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic. It increased being very apparent in my opinion that we was set on searching for a film a great interesting existence, however wasnt living an amazing existence myself. In my opinion that my marriage [to actress Jennifer Aniston] had something connected with it, he's reported as getting mentioned to Parade. Trying to pretend the marriage was a thing that it wasnt. Happy 65th Birthday, Tommy Lee Jones! What's His Greatest Moment on Film?
Joan Rivers may not love Tommy Lee Jones, but as the Oscar-winning actor turns 65 today, we recall only his most lovable moments at the cinema. He debuted in Love Story, but the bulk of his career has been spent playing gritty figures, real-life men of intrigue and Will Smith’s crisply suited confidant. What’s his best performance to date? Like Paul Newman or Jack Lemmon before him, Tommy Lee Jones won an Oscar, but not for his best work. Does anyone ever rent The Fugitive and think, “Can’t wait to watch an Oscar-winning performance”? Jones and Harrison Ford play a suspenseful game of cat-and-mouse, but is that enough to warrant a statue? Over Amon Goeth? I think not. Let’s talk about more affecting work: Though there are certainly strong arguments for Lonesome Dove, JFK, In the Valley of Elah, and No Country for Old Men, I definitely love Tommy Lee Jones most in Coal Miner’s Daughter. Though Sissy Spacek delivers the powerhouse performance as Loretta Lynn, Jones is so believable and familiar as her husband Mooney. It’s also a great departure from the roles that would later define him. This simple exchange between the young couple is a work of art. What do y’all think is best? Be as critical as you want. Warum Bodhi-Dharma in den Orient aufbrach
Three people live in a remote Buddhist monastery near Mount Chonan: Hyegok, the old master; Yong Nan, a young man who has left his extended family in the city to seek enlightenment - Hyegok calls him Kibong!; and, an orphan lad Haejin, whom Hyegok has brought to the monastery to raise as a monk. The story is mostly Yong Nan's, told in flashbacks: how he came to the monastery, his brief return to the city, his vacillation between the turbulence of the world and his hope to overcome passions and escape the idea of self. We also see Hyegok as a teacher, a protector, and a father figure, and we watch Haejin make his way as a curious and nearly self-sufficient child.
Keira Knightley in 'A Harmful Method' -- Oscar-Worthy or Laughable?
Keira Knightley's bold performance in David Cronenberg's 'A Harmful Method' is splitting experts in the Venice Film Festival, who're finding her role being an uninhibited mental patient "fabulous" or laughable. In either case, individuals who've seen the film agree that her approach is extreme. The film, which stars Viggo Mortensen and Michael Fassbender as, correspondingly, Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung, opened Friday in Venice, and Knightley rapidly grew to become probably the most debated aspect. Variety calls her performance "problematic," stating that her "brave but unskilled depiction of hysteria sometimes leaves itself available to easy laughs." Meanwhile, the Guardian's rater resented the film overall, but authored, "Knightley offers the Oscar bait." Likewise, Britain's Telegraph states Cronenberg "has coaxed a performance from Knightley so ferocious during these early moments it appears prone to get to be the film's primary speaking point. It is also a dangerous strategy, as Sabina's behavior is extreme to the stage to be offending." The Hollywood Reporter's Todd McCarthy concurs that Knightley begins off in a high pitch, but praises her "excellent are a personality having a very lengthy emotional arc" which by film's finish, "the performance modulates into something fully felt and truly impressive." Movieline covers Knightley's hysterics: "It's lots of acting - not good acting - however it sure will get the purpose across" and adds as her character will get better under psychoanalysis, "Knightley will get better scene by scene." Will Canada prove kinder to Knightley? The film hits the Toronto Film Festival in a few days prior to a November 23 U.S. release. Begin to see the trailer here. [via LA Occasions]

'Shark Night 3D' Exclusive Clip Warns Of The Dangers Of Wakeboarding In Lakes
The summer might be ending, but there's still time to get freaked out about going swimming in open bodies of water thanks to MTV's exclusive new "Shark Night 3D" clip. I personally havent heard stories of sharks searching out and attacking people wakeboarding in what looks like an enclosed body of water, but who am I to judge? The clip shows why actor Sinqua Walls likely won't be riding around behind a motorboat any time soon (hint: he doesn't look like he's living too long beyond the end of it). "Shark Night 3D" might be a horror satire, but the "Jaws" influence on the flick is certainly evident in this clip. Walls might not be wearing a bikini like the swimmer at the beginning of Steven Spielberg's classic, but he is definitely just as unsuspecting of his imminent demise. Coming from "Snakes on a Plane" director David R. Ellis, "Shark Night 3D" follows a group of seven vacationers who go to the Louisiana Gulf to spend an innocent weekend at a lake house. Unfortunately, that vacation doesn't go quite as planned when they start being subjected to fresh water shark attacks. Expect plenty of meta humor in the vein of "Snakes on a Plane" when "Shark Night 3D" hits theaters on September 2. Based on what we've seen, the movie knows better than to take itself too seriously, and should be just as much gory 3D fun as last year's "Piranha 3D." What did you think of this clip from "Shark Night 3D"? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below or on Twitter!

What's Really Happening With Mike Myers And 'Austin Forces 4'?
Following the Hitfix website reported that Mike Myers had signed an offer to perform a 4th Austin Forces film, other websites are running wild by using it. What's really happening? Well, I wouldn't always dress for that premiere at this time. No deal has yet been signed, and top New Line brass are surprised the entire factor has reared up once they made Myers a deal six several weeks to last year, and listen to nothing. Forgive New Line to be skeptical: The film company think it is well in route to a different Austin Forces installment if this designed a offer 2008 with Myers to collaborate with Mike McCullers for any Dr. Evil film which was to pay attention to his relationship with boy Scotty (Seth Eco-friendly), intended to be an unabashed homage to Myers' father, whose Brit influence essentially prodded Myers to produce the British agent Austin Forces character to begin with. Then, Myers' screen creation, The Love Guru, opened up to $13 million in June 2008 from the nearly $40 million that Steve Carell's Get Wise made with Steve Carell. Myers went AWOL, appearing just for a little role in Inglourious Basterds. McCullers never moved on using the script. Cut to 6 month ago. While Myers got a $20 million against 20% of first-dollar gross for Austin Forces in Goldmember (which made $297 million in 2002), New Line sent Myers' reps a professional forma deal offer that gave a minimal upfront pay day against a gross that will start working after Warner Bros recovered its costs. That isn't an infrequent deal for stars who cashed out-sized first-dollar gross inspections but who ain't ever getting individuals deals again. Myers was offered an offer like the one Cameron Diaz got for Bad Teacher and Jim Carrey for Mr. Popper's Penguins. The studio heard nothing from Myers -- until now, when Myers' reps arrived on the scene from the woodwork and expressed interest. New Line's unsure what this signifies. It's unclear whether Myers really wants to proceed together with his 2008 father homage idea, or whether he's determined a different way to bring back his Shagadelic secret agent. I am told that at this time it isn't obvious whether McCullers is going to be back or if Myers works with another collaborator. Also unclear is whether or not Jay Roach is engaged at this time, despite the fact that he directed the very first three films. And there's the question of whether Myers anxiously waited too lengthy to create his franchise character back. It is the risk stars take once they choose to step back for a long time at any given time. I frequently question exactly the same factor concerning the extremely gifted Chris Tucker, whose title was pointed out because the possible lead in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained (a job that visited Jamie Foxx) but who is not on the watch's screen since 2007's Hurry Hour 3. But say one factor for Mike Myers: He's a few to utilize, however the only superstar who dependably produces screen figures as memorable is Sacha Baron Cohen, who's presently back in internet marketing using the Dictator. Myers most likely has enough good will to produce another Austin Forces, but when he wants it, he'd better move rapidly and never disappear like he did in 2008. In the end, we are approaching on ten years because the last Austin Forces, and also the clock is ticking.
